Before Kirk and I got married, he received a couple of tomato plants and just kind of hurriedly put them in the ground not even knowing if they would survive or not. A few years ago he planted a few basil plants and they didn't do so well... So we set a timer for the tomato plants, and left for Hawaii. When we got home, not only were the plants still alive, but thriving! They had almost doubled in size in the week we were gone. Kirk spread out the plants a little more, and then decided he wanted to try to plant more. He spent quite a few hours breaking up the dirt in the backyard, and making nice little rows. We went out one night for Family Night, and planted all the seeds. Now, 2 months later this is what we have!
Cucumbers! My favorite!

Our Garden!
Basil. Yum!
We've started eating from our garden and it's been delicious! We're still kind of getting the hang of things, but hopefully in the next few years we can have a good, thriving garden. We'd like to add maybe some watermelon and cantaloupe or even strawberries or pumpkin! It's been a learning process, but it's sure great to eat food that we've grown.
