Thank you so much for taking such FABULOUS pictures!
We were able to go this past week and have Crystal take our engagement photos. Crystal took my Senior pictures, and my Graduation pictures, which all turned out amazing. So who better to take my engagement pictures?! She just has such an eye for taking outstanding pictures. Shes able to say "Turn your nose a little to the left" or "Put your chin down just a tad" and take a picture that would be good, and make it great. If we show up looking good, and do exactly what she tells us to, usually the end result is way more then we could even ask for. No sneak peaks of these photos just yet, but they will be featured on our wedding invitations as well as other various locations during the reception. Everyone will be able to see how amazing she is!

Stake Temple Day..
..and I found MY DRESS! There is a modest dress store in Roseville, that is connected to the church bookstore, Cover to Cover. Mom and I had gone to a different store that morning and found a dress that would have worked, and it was pretty enough, but in my heart it just wasn't what I wanted, and it just wasn't my dress. When we walked into the modest dress store, there were a lot of dresses to choose from. We started looking and mom found one she liked, and I wasn't to sure about it, but she told me to just try it on anyways. We pulled a few other dresses, then started tryin' them on. Moms dress was the first one I tried on. When I saw it briefly in the mirror in the fitting room, I liked it, and then we went out to the BIG mirror. As I stepped up onto the little platform in front of the mirror, I saw myself and just knew it was MY dress. (I'll admit, I cried.) I didn't want to take it off! I tried on a few more dresses, which I also liked, but I was still in LOVE with the first one I tried on. Thankfully I have a mom who loves me very much, and I was able to walk out of the store with the dress in my arms. I think I had a smile on my face for the rest of the day!
After we were done at the dress store, we made our way to the Sacramento Temple for our stake temple day. I LOVE the temple! I love how beautiful the actual temple is. I love the grounds. I love the people who were at the temple, and I love the spirit that is 'The Temple'. Its such a hard thing to put into words, or to try to explain to people who haven't been. I was able to do baptisms and confirmations, which is just great, and to make it even better I was surrounded by family and friends. The Stones were there, and Alesha was there. Its such a great feeling knowing that you're serving, and doing things for those who can't, and to have friends and family by your side is just such a great feeling. I am so thankful for the temple and the opportunities it provides. I'm excited and grateful to be able to go there with Kirk in 3 months and be sealed to him for time and all eternity. I'm grateful for all the blessings that come with attending and serving in the temple.

The beard is gone!
And sadly, I don't have any pictures on my computer... It's amazing though, let me assure you. For those of you who haven't seen him in the past couple weeks, you're in for a treat when you finally do. He had his beard for over 2 years, so ALL of the pictures we'd taken have 'that thing' in them. I told him I wanted it gone before the wedding, because I wanted him to look nice in all of our pictures. So, 3 sundays ago, after we got home from church, he excused himself while I was making dinner, and he cut his hair (yes, he does that himself). When he was done with his haircut, he called me upstairs, and I got to watch the beard come off, and I was so happy. He says I was like a kid in a candy store! Now, its not that I thought he looked bad with a beard, because when he had it trimmed nicely, he actually pulled it off. I just thought it made him look a LOT older then he actually is. I met him for the first time almost 6 years ago without a beard, so I knew how good he could look with a smooth face. I am so happy to see him this way again! He looks so much more handsome to me now. Its a shock when people see him for the first time, and some people actually don't recognize him when they see him! He looks younger, and it's great!
We're Getting Married!
Wow..I've been a total slacker! It's not even like I haven't had anything good to write about. I decided that instead of trying to jam everything into one post, I'm going to break it up into a few, so hang in there with me.
First!
We're getting married! Finally! For those of you who haven't heard the story, or want to hear it again, here we go....
My work had asked me to do an over-night inventory out of town starting on February 14th (Valentines day!) and I was very hesitant to do it, because I didn't want to miss Valentines with Kirk, and I didn't want to screw up any plans that he might have already made. So I talked to him, and of course he told me to do it, and take all those extra hours. He told me he hadn't made any plans yet, and we could just do our date on the weekend before. The night before our date, I mentioned that I needed to go to the grocery store sometime on Saturday and he kept telling me I wouldn't have time. I just could not figure out what we were going to be doing that would take the ENTIRE day, and make it so I wouldn't have time to go to the store to get broccoli! He told me to wear something nice, and to be at his house around 8 in the morning. I showed up shortly after 8 (took a little longer to get ready then I planned.) and walked into the house to see flowers on the table, and breakfast all ready. He was wearing his suit (minus the jacket, at this point) and I just kept thinking "Where the heck are we going?!". After a delicious breakfast, he put his jacket on, and we hit the road. I still had no idea where we were going, I just knew we were driving towards the bay area. We were coming up on Oakland, and I remembered that he needed to get some things from the Distribution Center next to the temple, so I told him we should just stop and get it, since we were right there anyways. He said we could just go later, but I insisted that we do it then. So he pulls across 3 lanes, and cut a few cars off, and we got off the freeway. We went into the store, got what he needed, and then he excused himself for a moment. When we were getting ready to leave, he took me up this little path behind the distribution center which was pretty, and private, and you could see the temple across the street. After a minute of standing, looking at the beautiful temple, he said to me "You want to go there with me, huh?" Well of course I did..I don't know how many times I've told him that. Now here is how oblivious I was to the fact that he was about to propose. We're standing across the street from the temple and he said "I have something I need to ask you" and I didn't even look at him, and my response was "Sure, whats up." Wow. Clueless! I finally turned to look at him, because he hadn't said anything else, and he was down on his knee. The first thing that came to my mouth was "What are you doing?". He wanted it to be a surprise, and boy was I surprised. He asked me "Well, I was wondering if you would marry me". I'm sure he was expecting me to shout Yes! right away, but all that came out of my mouth was "Are you kidding me?". Not exactly as he played it out in his head, i'm sure. Of course I said Yes! when I finally gathered myself. I was speechless. As he puts it "I wasn't afraid she was going to say no, I was afraid she was going into shock and I was going to have to preform first-aid or something." That was just the beginning of a wonderful Valentines date. We went into the city, and went to the Legion of Honor Museum (which is where he was actually planning on proposing) and spent a few hours looking at all the beautiful pieces of art there, and we finished the night at Ozumo, a Japanese restaurant. The service was fantastic, we got dessert on the house, which was a to die for chocolate fondue with fruit, and got to spend 3 hours at dinner without feeling rushed or pressured to get out. We came home from our fantastic, blissful day of being engaged, and told the news to my family. Of course they were excited! The next day we got to tell all our friends at church, the Stones and the Buells, and then we went over to Kirks parents house and told them, then we went to both sets of his grandparents. I think the most common reaction was "Finally!". We've been engaged for just over a month now, and its been a rush. We're trying to do good planning, and get everything figured out, because the wedding is just around the corner. I know 3 months is still a little bit away, but if the past month is any indication about how fast the time is going to go, we don't have much time!
