Wow! What a whirlwind the last month has been! Things have been super crazy and busy with both Kirk and I with our jobs. His job as an engineer has been jam packed the last few months, which is great! I work in retail, and the holidays is always a busy time. While Kirk was working 55 hour weeks, and I was helping all sorts of crazy people find last minute Christmas presents for loved ones, it was easy to forget that our trip to Kirks moms house in Wyoming was quickly approaching. After Kirk and I got off work on the 23rd, we had 'our' Christmas at his house, including a nice dinner, candles, and Christmas lights. I got Kirk a bunch of random little things off his list, (golf balls, tees, a new sweater, an oven liner, ect..) and he got me a bunch of Bath and Body Works stuff (lotion, body butter, body cream, anti-bacterial hand foam, and warm fuzzy shea butter and lavender socks), and an ab.so.lutly
BEAUTIFUL necklace!!
Wow, am I lucky! The next morning we left the house at 3 AM! for a plane that left just after 6. We didn't know this, but apparently Southwest ticket counter agents don't start work till 4:30. We wanted to make sure that we got there in plenty of time, because we thought it would be busy, being Christmas Eve and all...turns out we didn't need to be there so early. By the time we got done checking our bags, and going through security, it was hardly 5. Thankfully the Sacramento airport has free Wi-Fi! Kirk took a nap, and I did some last minute facebook checking. We had a direct flight to Denver, where we were expecting plenty of snow, and cold. While it was cold, there was no snow to be found! Thankfully! We figured there would at least be snow at Kirks moms house. Kirks sister Wendy and her husband Ben came and picked us up from the airport, and loaded all our things into a tiny little car for the 2 hour drive to Cheyenne (which ended up taking a little longer, due to some detours). Much to my surprise, and joy, there wasn't any snow anywhere to be seen in Cheyenne! Hallelujah! On our first night in Cheyenne, Kirks brother Davids girlfriend, Seika (who is originally from Japan), made us some authentic and delicious Japanese chicken. I have no idea how she did it, but it was incredible. If she cooks like that for David, he is one lucky guy! After dinner we had a little Christmas, for David and Seika, who unfortunately had to go back to Utah, early Christmas morning. (David had to work..we tried to figure out a way to get him out of work so they could stay longer. We couldn't think of anything). After they opened presents, we attempted to watch a movie, but Kirk and I had been up for so long we both kinda started falling asleep.) On Christmas morning Kirks mom made us all breakfast, and as soon as Wendy, Ben, little Faithy came over, we opened presents. Kirk and I were sitting with our pile of presents not knowing if we should wait, or open them, and everyone around us was opening like crazy, and finally we just opened everything. Kirk and I got all sorts of awesome things. He got a bike pump, a cool little pocket knife, an aluminum water bottle, and a couple other little things. I got some nail polish, lotion, velcro rollers for my hair, and the new Taylor Swift cd! Karissa (kirks sister-in-law) had him for the gift exchange, and she got him a super awesome mini fishing pole, that he can take on his Kayak. He loves it. Wendy had me, and she got me this beautiful cashmere argyle sweater. Thanks Wendy!! The day after Christmas Kirk, Ben and Christopher (another brother) went down to Colorado to go snowboarding, and Wendy and Faith, Brittany and Khloe (another sister and niece), and I went shopping, and swimming in the pool at the hotel Wendy and Ben stayed at. They got their boy day, and we got our awesome girls day. The day after that (the 28th) we went shopping at The Wrangler in Cheyenne, and Kirk got to look at cowboy boots to match his hat.

We had a great dinner at home, that included Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Veggies, and delicious fruit dip. It was so great to be able to spend a great night at home with everyone.
The Day after we got home, the ward had their annual Ice Broom Hockey game, which Kirk had a blast playing. The night after that was New Years Eve. Kirk and I went to the dance at the church, and got our boogie on. We got back to Kirks just before midnight, and rang in the new year, just me and him. I love that boy.
The next day was our 2 year anniversary!! I can't believe we've been together that long! We had a nice dinner at home, and Kirk made me a delicious cheesecake. I am SO lucky! He is such an amazing guy, and we've had so many fun adventures over the last 2 years. I can't wait to see what adventures are coming our way!
